ENJOY THE BEST RAFTING IN CALIFORNIA
Two of the best rafting rivers in California are located in the Yosemite region: the Merced and Tuolumne Rivers. Each provides a spectacular, beautiful and exhilarating experience. The Tuolumne is known for its rocky, technical drops, while the Merced is famous for large, roller-coaster waves and big crashing swells.

Beginning in the high peaks in the southern part of Yosemite, the Merced River is best known as the river creating spectacular Nevada and Vernal Falls before it enters and flows through Yosemite Valley. The rafting on the Merced is typically class 3 (rated 1-5, with 5 being most challenging) and suitable for first time rafters and children over the ages of 12.

- 14 miles of Class 3 rapids including Terminator, Grand Slam and Split Rock
- Full day and half day trips available. Typically available April-July

Mt. Lyell, the highest peak in Yosemite, is the birthplace of the world class Tuolumne River. The ‘T’, as it is affectionately called, is considered the finest rafting in California, and its consistent class 4 and occasional class 5 rapids are non-stop. This trip is suitable for experienced rafters, adventurous first timers and children over 12.

- Flowing from the Tuolumne High Country through Hetch Hetchy
- 18 Miles of Class 4-5 rapids including Cabin, Hells Kitchen and famous Clavey Falls
- Full day trips only. Typically available April-September 15
