Friday, December 12th - Saturday, December 27th
2014 Christmas details coming soon. Highlights from last year's celebration are included below.
Join the Evergreen family for a winter wonderland Christmas holiday. From soup to nuts throughout the holiday period, we'll provide all the accents and trimmings of an Old World lodge, with the comforts and amenities of a modern resort. Let us handle the details, while you enjoy precious time with your family and friends.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing mountain getaway or starting a new family tradition, you’ll find it at our Yosemite holiday oasis.
You can enjoy the Christmas holiday with us in two ways:
- A la Carte – Book your cabin (two-night minimum), then pick and choose from the many dining, activity and recreation options available.
- Christmas Package – Get the most value, fun and convenience from your visit by purchasing a two or three-night package, including meals, recreation, activities and more.
NOTE: Please book early as our Christmas period will sell out.
Each day we will offer an array of guided recreation trips tailored to the holiday season, including naturalist hikes, snowshoe trips to the Giant Sequoias and sightseeing tours of Yosemite Valley.
Our expert massage therapist will be waiting to indulge you after your day’s activities (reservations required) – or you can always just skip the activities and go right to the massage!

Each night our restaurant will serve our classic menu along with memorable holiday specials. In the tavern, eggnog and hot specialty drinks will be flowing, in addition to a broad assortment of wines, beer and spirits.
After dinner, we will offer a variety of nightly activities, including campfires, arts & crafts, bingo, holiday movies and guest speakers. And of course you’ll always have the wonderful options of reading or playing board games by the fireside, relaxing in our tavern or stargazing from your private deck.
On Sunday evening, we’ll kick off the holiday festivities. Head to our Recreation Center for nature crafts. Then sneak in a quick visit to our beautiful new hot tub. Afterwards, relaxed and refreshed, enjoy a delicious dinner and join us for fireside s’mores under the stars.
Start your day with morning Yoga, then enjoy an active day in Yosemite on one of our guided naturalist adventures, or explore the spectacular Park on your own.
Return in time to get the family warmed up for the holiday in your most 'unforgettable' Christmas sweaters, and join us in Recreation for arts & crafts fun, Letters to Santa and fireside Christmas stories. After dinner, enjoy hot toddies in the tavern and our traditional Ugly Christmas Sweater party!
Our celebration continues in true Christmas spirit throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
In the morning, grab the family and explore our pristine wilderness. Take a morning hike or snowshoe to the Giant Sequoias with one of our naturalist guides. Learn more of the history, folklore and fauna of Yosemite, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of our postcard perfect scenery.
Return for an afternoon of hayrides, hot cocoa, cider and crafts. Make your own, custom tie-dyed shirt – fun to create and stylish too! Decorate ornaments & stockings, then head off to our special 'Tour of California' Wine & Cheese tasting. Afterwards, enjoy a fun-filled holiday sing–a–long in the Recreation Center during our fireside pajama party and memorable Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
'Tour of California' Wine and Cheese Tasting
While the kids are busy with holiday crafts, join us in the tavern for a fun and informative wine and cheese tasting. Settle in by the fire and sample wine and cheese from different parts of California with our knowledgeable host. Learn about wine varietals and discover how various cheeses can affect the flavor of each. Be sure to sign up in advance with the Recreation Department, as space is limited for this exciting event!
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
At the center of all the festivities is the Evergreen Christmas Tree. Grab some fresh, house made eggnog or cider and gather around our plaza. Hang your newly decorated ornaments and pinecones on our tree and see the tree come to life with light and live music. Bring your family to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and help put the finishing holiday touches on our mountain lodge. Let the holiday warmth and cheer of the Evergreen spread from our family to yours.
After your dinner (or before if you’d like!), get the kids (and adults?!) in pajamas, then head over for a roaring fire, s'mores, hot drinks, "T'was the Night Before Christmas" reading, Letters to Santa Station and holiday sing-along with the wonderful acoustical string band Sequoia!
Savor the serenity of winter in the woods by starting your Christmas day lazing around your cabin or sneaking in an early walk, then...
Christmas Morning in Our Living Room
Bring the whole gang over to the Recreation Center to open gifts around the blazing fireplace. Relax on a couch and make yourself at home. Be sure to check the kids' stockings for special treats left behind by Santa.
Visit From Santa!
After his long night of work, Santa will be headed to the Evergreen for some relaxation! Come by the Plaza to have your picture taken next to the Christmas tree with Santa!
After opening gifts, bring your appetite, as Chef Tommy will be serving a special Christmas breakfast. Afterwards, hit the road and explore beautiful Yosemite Valley – our guides will gladly take you on an outing or help you plan one of your own.
Or just relax and enjoy the afternoon at the lodge, where we’ll have endless family activities to round out the day, including hayrides and picture album crafts & photo center.
Old World Christmas Feast
Don't forget to make reservations for our Christmas Feast. Chef Tommy will prepare a sumptuous array of mouth-watering dinners, sure to delight the palette.

After a long day of festivities and fun, cuddle up and settle in for a lodge movie night. Or gather around our outdoor fireplace to roast s'mores and create a new holiday tradition for you and your family.
After the movie, join us for more holiday cheer in the tavern. Built in 1921, our all-wood tavern has a down home feel, the friendliest staff around and the tastiest of libations.
Enjoy morning Yoga, then head over to the restaurant for a delicious hot breakfast. Grab lunch to go and hit the trail on another idyllic day exploring Yosemite with family and friends. Join an interpretive hike, snowshoe (weather permitting) to see the world’s largest living specimens - Giant Sequoias, or take a sightseeing tour of Yosemite Valley.
Or just sleep in and relax around the lodge after the Christmas festivities. Savor a rare carefree day however you choose: indulge in a full-body massage (advance reservation required), rejuvenate in the hot tub, read a book, play games, walk the nature trail... If you get motivated, join us for a bit more local area exploration on a mid-afternoon 'Owl Prowl' hike.
However you spent your day, come join us for late afternoon crafts and try your hand at Leather Stamping. Then take a well-earned break while the kids head off to Recreation Center for BINGO and Yosemite Trivia – or join them and win a prize or two yourself! After dinner, join the kids for s'mores by the fireside and a movie, or enjoy some adult time in the tavern while they watch the movie!
Join one of our guided Yosemite adventures or enjoy another wonderful day of Yosemite exploration on your own. Return in time for Nature Crafts with the kids, then indulge in a sunset hot tub followed by a gentle Candlelight Yoga session. After dinner, join us for a special "2013 Rim Fire presentation" then head over to the tavern for a nightcap!
The fun continues on Saturday with more Yosemite exploration, College Bowl Games in the Tavern, early evening Tie Dyeing, ghost stories and other activities.
