You can enjoy the Christmas holiday with us in two ways:
- A la Carte – Book your cabin (two-night minimum), then pick and choose from the many dining, activity and recreation options available.
- Christmas Package – Get the most value, fun and convenience from your visit by purchasing a two or three-night package, including meals, recreation, activities and more.
NOTE: Please book early as our Christmas period will sell out.

Each day we will offer an array of guided recreation trips tailored to the holiday season, including naturalist hikes, snowshoe trips to the Giant Sequoias and sightseeing tours of Yosemite Valley.
Our expert massage therapist will be waiting to indulge you after your day’s activities (reservations required) – or you can always just skip the activities and go right to the massage!

Each night our restaurant will serve our classic menu along with memorable holiday specials. In the tavern, eggnog and hot specialty drinks will be flowing, in addition to a broad assortment of wines, beer and spirits.
After dinner, we will offer a variety of nightly activities, including campfires, arts & crafts, bingo, holiday movies and guest speakers. And of course you’ll always have the wonderful options of reading or playing board games by the fireside, relaxing in our tavern or stargazing from your private deck.
On Monday evening, we’ll kick off the formal holiday festivities. Start by heading out under the stars for s’mores fireside. Then enjoy a family movie, or head to the tavern for music and holiday cocktails.
Indulge in a lazy morning and a delicious hot breakfast, then get out and enjoy the day. Grab lunch to go and join us for one of our naturalist hikes or snowshoe trips. Arrive back at the Lodge in time for an indulgent full-body massage, hayride and/or crafts project. Relaxed and refreshed, join us for a memorable night of dining and activities.
On Wednesday, we’ll feature guided tours and hikes as well as hayrides during the day. In the late afternoon, we’ll kick our Christmas family festivities into high gear with our annual "Ornament, Stocking & Flamingo Decorating" event as well as our Kids Crafts Photo Framing activity. In the evening, enjoy more s’mores as well as a memorable naturalist slide show.
Decorate Your Stocking
Each child (or adult!) will receive a stocking to decorate. Once complete, these stockings will be "hung by the chimney with care" on the mantel of our Recreation Center fireplace. Be sure to check back on Christmas morning to see what Santa has left for the kids.
Flamingo Decorating???
Yes, Flamingo decorating! Each Christmas we allow our guests to indulge their wacky side, helping us bring some summer warmth to our winter wonderland. Join our recreation staff and decorate your own Christmas flamingo. Together we’ll create an amazing cast of pink, holiday characters to keep the snowmen company. Flamingos do not fly south for the winter at the Evergreen! Great fun for all ages, and a truly unique souvenir!
Our celebration continues in true Christmas spirit throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
In the morning, grab the family and explore our pristine wilderness. Take a morning hike or snowshoe to the Giant Sequoias with one of our naturalist guides. Learn more of the history, folklore and fauna of Yosemite, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of our postcard perfect scenery.
Ornaments, Cookies & Letters to Santa
Back at the Lodge, get the kids warmed up at our "Letters to Santa" crafting afternoon, writing letters, decorating cookies for Santa and making ornaments for the Evergreen Christmas tree.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
At the center of all the festivities is the Evergreen Christmas Tree. Grab some fresh, house-made eggnog or cider and gather around our plaza. Hang your newly decorated ornaments and pinecones on our tree and see the tree come to life with light and live music. Bring your family to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and help put the finishing holiday touches on our mountain lodge. Let the holiday warmth and cheer of the Evergreen spread from our family to yours.
Savor the serenity of winter in the woods by starting your Christmas day lazing around your cabin or sneaking in an early walk, then...
Christmas Morning in Our Living Room
Bring the whole gang over to the Recreation Center to open gifts around the blazing fireplace. Relax on a couch and make yourself at home. Be sure to check the kids' stockings for special treats left behind by Santa.
After opening gifts, bring your appetite, as Chef Aaron will be serving a special Christmas breakfast. Afterwards, relax around the Lodge or hit the road and explore beautiful Yosemite Valley. Our guides will gladly take you on an outing or help you plan one of your own. At the lodge, we’ll have hay rides and t-shirt tie dying to round out the afternoon fun.
Old World Christmas Feast
Don't forget to make reservations for our Christmas Feast. Chef Aaron will prepare a sumptuous array of mouth-watering dinners, sure to delight the palette.

Lodge Movie Night
After a long day of festivities and fun, cuddle up and settle in for a lodge movie night. Or gather around our outdoor fireplace to roast s'mores and create a new holiday tradition for you and your family.
After the movie or campfire, join us for more holiday cheer in the tavern. Built in 1921, our all-wood tavern has a down home feel, the friendliest staff around and the tastiest of libations.
Sleep in as you recover from the Christmas festivities, then head over to the restaurant for delicious hot breakfast. Grab lunch to go and hit the trail with family and friends for the day. Join an interpretive hike or snowshoe (weather permitting) to see the world’s largest living specimens - Giant Sequoias, take a sightseeing tour of Yosemite Valley or just relax at the lodge, then join us for an afternoon “Owl Prowl” hike. After dinner, enjoy a memorable Western Sierra slide show.
Begin your day with a delicious hot breakfast, then choose one of our guided trips or head to the Park for an adventure on your own. After a day’s fun, arrive back at the Lodge in time for your indulgent full-body massage (advance reservation required). Relaxed and refreshed, join the kids for dinner and s’mores by the fireside. Then take a well-earned break while the kids head off to the event hall for BINGO!
