Guided Bike Trips
The hundreds of kids riding bikes at neighboring Camp Mather can't be wrong, the riding in our area is really fun. We have a number of wonderful rides that cruise our local fire roads and wind down mellow country roads, all leading to some of our favorite swimming holes. Some of our rides are round trips while others include a van pick-up to bring you back to the Lodge, avoiding those long uphill jaunts. These trips are designed for all levels of riders though you should be comfortable riding for a few hours and managing the occasional up and downhill section.

While specific bike trips are subject to change (both day to day and seasonally), our current offering is summarized below:

Our guided trips have limited capacity and should be reserved in advance. Please call our Recreation Department at (209) 379-2606 x140, email us, or send a Recreation Request.

Spring ‘Bike & Hike’ to Rainbow Pools
Offered April - May

Enjoy a scenic ride on the Yosemite area’s quiet back roads on our one-way ‘bike and hike’ trip to beautiful, historic Rainbow Pools. We take advantage of uncrowded, mellow roads (with lots of downhill!) that wind their way among lush forest, meadows, wildflowers and dramatic vistas of the High Country and the Tuolumne River. Our naturalist guides lead the way, pointing out memorable features and wildlife throughout your journey.

Once we arrive at Rainbow Pools, you’ll have time to swim, picnic, relax, hike and explore the remnants of the historic inn that once overlooked the river pool. You'll have the option of taking a scenic two mile roundtrip hike to the confluence of the South and Main forks of the Tuolumne River, where these beautiful waterways join up deep in the scenic river canyon. Our van will then pick us up at Rainbow Pools and drive us (and our bikes) back up to the Lodge!
